As we say goodbye to 2018, the volunteers of Brown Bag Food Project would like to take a look back at our highlights and milestones of the past year.
We have seen a considerable increase in the number of community members that we are able to help with an average of 300 individual clients per month (double our monthly average for 2017). In addition to providing our 5-7 days of food and hygiene items, we provided additional services.
We were able to raise funds for migrant workers’ food deliveries in connection with La Connexion. With the assistance of Thayer Nissan, we provided 50 local families with a complete, traditional Thanksgiving meal. We also organized the city-wide food canvas in honor of MLK’s national day of service.
We definitely owe a great deal of thanks to numerous community and BGSU businesses, organizations, and individuals for supporting us through monetary donations and food drives. Brown Bag relies on the generosity of our local supporters to continue to help alleviate food insecurity in Wood County. A few of our larger sponsors include: Vehtek, ACT BG, Riehms, Walmart, Perrysburg Panera, Painted Clovers, Day Mark, and Thayer Nissan, just to name a few.
Our hope is to continue to connect with the community and to help even more individuals in need. We are asking all of you to help us to grow and make Wood County a better place for all.
Thank You,
