Frequently Asked Questions:
What is the minimum age to volunteer?
Volunteers should be 16 or older. Teens younger than 16 years old can volunteer, however an adult 18+ must stay and volunteer with them for the entire time. There are no exceptions to this policy.
The courts have given me community service hours- can I do it at Brown Bag Food Project?
If you want to volunteer because you have to do court-ordered community service, please contact us first at brownbagfoodproject@gmail.com. Please note that those under the age of 16 must have an adult stay and volunteer with them while they are completing their community service.
I am a BGSU student, can I volunteer?
Absolutely! We love working with BGSU students. If you need volunteer hours for a class or as a Thompson Scholar, we encourage you to sign up early for your required hours as spaces do fill up quickly during the semester. Please use our regular signup link HERE.
I would like to register a group to come volunteer, is that okay?
Groups are always welcome to volunteer! You can contact us to discuss your interests, or use the signup link. If you are signing up a group, and someone is not able to attend, please call us as soon as you know so that we are not short-handed that night.
